Underground city distribution system depends on financial aid by state.

By investing approximately EUR 10 to 15 million the whole of TilburgÂ's inner city may be equiped with a tube network, which can be used to supply shops.

The ambitious plans by Tilburg threaten to remain futuristic dreams if the state wil not supply a substantial financial aid package. The first study, done by DHV Milieu en Infrastructuur BV, looks promising. Costs and revenues of the system are reasonably balanced, whereas the underground system will contribute substantially to the living environment in the inner city.
