Transval begins works on €60m warehouse plot in Jarvenpaa (FI)

Transval begins construction work on the 180,000mplot in Jarvenpaa with the groundworks for the first part of the warehouse. The first part will be around 35,000m2 in size and is expected to be ready for use in spring 2025. The plot, which is equivalent in size to around 13 football pitches, will enable the construction of a warehouse of over 90,000m2. This is a significant investment: the cost of acquiring the land and building the first part of the warehouse will total c. €60m.

"This is great news for our customers and staff. A modern, responsible, and space-efficient warehouse with excellent accessibility is a real competitive advantage. Finland's warehouse stock is relatively old and there is not much environmentally friendly storage space available. We have the know-how and experience to build the best possible warehouse and its operations. So, it's better for customers to invest in developing their customer relationships rather than in warehousing. As a logistics professional, we can manage warehousing more efficiently and responsibly," said Sakari Kiiskinen, who is heading Transval.

The Jarvenpaa warehouse will use modern technology and automation. The building will be heated by geothermal solutions and solar energy will be used to generate electricity. The central location close to the capital region will facilitate logistics and ease commuting. The nearby airports and ports enable fast logistics outside Finland.
