SUMMARY 2014 was characterized by the arrival ‘en masse’ of international investors and the creation of large Spanish REITs (SOCIMIs). After seven years being a no-go area, Spain has transformed into one of the hottest markets for investors. Last year alone, more than €7bn ($7.8bn) was invested in commercial real estate – this is almost triple the amount invested in 2013 when it stood at €2.5bn ($2.8bn).
