Redkom to deliver retail park in Bydgoszcz with Carrefour anchor (PL)

Redkom Development has announced plans to open a retail park on the site of the former CH Glinki shopping centre in Bydgoszcz, Poland, with a projected launch in Q4 2025. The redevelopment will include approximately 16,000 m² of gross leasable area (GLA), designed to house 25 retail and service units, with Carrefour confirmed as the anchor tenant. The revitalised complex will feature over 500 parking spaces to ensure accessibility and convenience for daily shoppers.

The investment reflects a broader trend of adaptive reuse across the Polish retail landscape. Once seen as a declining mid-market asset, the CH Glinki location is being repositioned as a thriving multi-brand destination. The tenant mix will span fashion, beauty, home goods, medical services, DIY and pet stores, offering a curated yet comprehensive retail experience.

“A retail park in Bydgoszcz with an operating Carrefour is the perfect place to re-establish itself in the minds of Bydgoszcz residents as the most attractive place to shop,” said Elżbieta Kutrasińska, Senior Leasing Manager at Redkom Development. “The tenants we have already signed leases with and those we are currently talking to are very popular brands. They are attracting customers to their retail locations because of their very wide range of products, but also because Poles have grown fond of them and they have managed to become part of the canon of shops that are visited on every shopping trip to the retail park.”

While Newgate Investment is not officially linked to this specific redevelopment, it has a notable history of acquiring Redkom projects, including assets in Opole and Bielsko-Biała. This precedent opens the door to potential investment interest, especially as the Bydgoszcz scheme nears completion.

A key draw for investors is the scheme’s alignment with local consumer preferences and its proven anchor strategy. Redkom’s consistent delivery track record, paired with Carrefour’s loyal customer base, positions this development to yield both community value and solid returns in a tightening retail investment landscape.
