Redevco has started a project to redevelop 126 Rivoli, an iconic building in Paris. The building will be refurbished into a new mixed-use and socially engaged project, designed by Franklin Azzi Architecture. The work started in June 2023. The project has been awarded BREEAM Excellent certification for both the construction and operating phases.
Once redeveloped the Haussmann building will offer 13,000m2 of space spread over 8 levels, with 3,000m2 spanning over three dedicated to retail, four floors and 4,000m2 secured for offices, urban logistics, a lifestyle hotel and a restaurant, all nestling under an extensive roof-top garden with an exceptional 360-degree view of Paris.
The new building is entitled BPM, which stands for beats per minute. The new space at 126 Rivoli marries together significant environmental and societal ambitions, in line with the commitments and precepts of the Redevco group, whose mission is to achieve net zero carbon across all its real estate assets by 2040. A ‘beating heart’, much more than the sum of its square metres, that is destined to become a vital meeting place for mixed activities and multiple experiences, offering a year-round programme of cultural and artistic events.
“126 Rivoli is a fantastic opportunity for Redevco to once again demonstrate its expertise as a city-centre developer capable of designing high-quality experiential living spaces, based on mixed-use activities and high social engagement. The constant aim of Redevco’s teams is to create exceptional, lively and connected venues that users and visitors enjoy being in and sharing”, said Cecile Pouzadoux, Head of Redevco's Portfolio in France.
“This project at 126 Rue de Rivoli, a historic building that the Group acquired in 1965, fits perfectly with our strategy of transforming every asset in our portfolio into a vibrant and innovative location for the needs of modern life. The future site, which will meet the highest environmental and social standards, will be perfectly integrated into its urban environment. Through redevelopment projects such as those at Rue de Rivoli and Boulevard Haussmann, Redevco has confirmed its role as a major player in the drive to positively and sustainably reinvent the city of the future”, said Thierry Cahierre, President of Redevco France.
