Omniport and Dura in race for Maastricht Aachen Airport

The English company Omniport PLC â€" co-owner of the Scottish airport Glasgow Prestwick International â€" has been selected along with the Dutch building- and infrastructure company Dura Vermeer as a party with which the shareholders of Maastricht Aachen Airport will go into exclusive negotiations with regard to full or partial takeover of Maastricht Aachen Airport (MAA) including the business parks.

In case of a positive outcome of these negotiations Omniport and Dura Vermeer will joint ownership or majority interest in MAA. After that Omniport will take up the management of the airport while Dura Vermeer will take care of the technical management of the infrastructure and the buildings. Also Dura Vermeer will do the development of surrounding business parks. A so-called ‘confirmatory due diligence’ research is part of the negotiation process.

Omniport and Dura Vermeer have the intention to ensure the exploitation and further development of Maastricht Aachen Airport by whenever possible working together with the local businesses and other parties involved. This way they would like to guarantee the importance of the local economy as much as possible. Omniport PLC is an English company, which has investing in and managing of regional airports as its core activity.
