Newgate Investment has announced the acquisition of a retail park located at 135 Bydgoska Street in Pila, Poland. The facility, formerly a Tesco hypermarket, offers a gross leasable area (GLA) of 15,943 m² and hosts prominent tenants such as Castorama, Biedronka, Pepco, RTV EURO AGD, Rossmann, Sinsay, and DOZ pharmacy. This purchase marks Newgate's second retail park in Piła and expands its Polish portfolio to 34 properties, totalling approximately 181,000 m² of GLA.
Robert Dudziński, Director of Asset Management at Newgate Investment, stated, "We are consistently expanding our portfolio of commercial properties. We focus on acquiring facilities that hold a dominant position in local markets or are part of key commercial destinations in their respective cities. These properties will maintain their competitive advantage for the long term by meeting the needs of local communities with essential goods and services."
The company has been actively investing in retail parks across Poland, with recent acquisitions including Ozimska Park Opole (over 17,000 m² GLA), Comfy Park Bielik in Bielsko-Biała (over 17,000 m² GLA), and Smart Park Zgorzelec (over 5,000 m² GLA). These strategic investments are part of Newgate's plan to invest around €100m in acquiring new facilities in 2025.
Newgate Investment's portfolio boasts an impressive occupancy rate exceeding 99.7%, significantly higher than the Polish market average of 94%. This high occupancy level underscores the company's effective investment decisions and the strong interest from retail chains in well-located areas.
With the Polish market still offering growth opportunities for retail parks and convenience centres, Newgate Investment continues to strengthen its presence, focusing on properties that cater to the essential needs of local communities.
