NCC has signed an agreement with Bassin 7 Erhverv ApS to build a Scandic hotel on Aarhus Island in Denmark. The project is a turnkey contract and the order value is approximately €180m (SEK 2bn). The hotel will cover an area of 37,000m² and have 342 rooms, as well as 16,000m² of office space. A two-story parking garage with a total area of 8,600m² will be built in the basement. The hotel, which has been designed by BIG, will also feature a 2,000m² wellness center, a skybar, restaurants, shops, a café, a conference center and a rooftop terrace.

It is big and demanding, but one of our strengths is that we have the expertise and size to manage a project like this. We’ve been involved in the process from an early stage, and that bodes well for the construction. We’re looking forward to getting started,” said Catarina Molen-Runnas, Head of Building Nordics.

Construction will commence in April 2023 and is scheduled for completion in September 2026.
