Montano Real Estate, the Munich-headquartered commercial real estate investment specialist, has strategically strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of René Sellner as new Head of Fund Management, effective 1 May 2025.
In this pivotal role, Sellner assumes comprehensive oversight of Montano's existing funds and individual mandates while spearheading the expansion of institutional client relationships. His appointment comes at a critical inflection point in the market cycle, with Montano poised to capitalise on emerging counter-cyclical opportunities, particularly in the public sector real estate segment where cap rate compression could provide early movers with significant valuation upside once interest rates stabilise.

Sellner brings a valuable international perspective to the role, having operated across Munich, New York and London markets during his tenure at GLL Real Estate Partners and Macquarie Asset Management, where he managed relationships with clients throughout Germany, Europe and Asia. Most recently, he served as a sales specialist at PATRIZIA SE, further enhancing his credentials in institutional fund management.
