Laurus wants to leave Rotterdam

Supermarket chain Laurus will lose the majority of its staff when it is forced to stay in the former Van Nelle factory complex in Rotterdam.

'In order to safeguard the future of Laurus, it is necessary that the Rotterdam complex is vacated and that everybody returns to their former offices in Den Bosch”, according to Chairman Jan Konings in court yesterday. “If not, then we will have a major problem. Already we have a staff shortage on many key functions”.

Initially Laurus rented the complex until 2012, but in the wake of the failed switch to the Konmar formula, the company decided to return to its previous various offices. The owners of the former Van Nelle complex want to force Laurus to stay in Rotterdam.
