Hilton to open new hotel in Berlin (DE)

Hilton has announced a franchise agreement with Blackstone to open DoubleTree by Hilton Berlin Ku’damm. The hotel is set to become the first DoubleTree by Hilton in Berlin, following an extensive multi-million euro remodelling. The 420-guest room property will open next month as the sixth property in the German capital for the hotel group, which according to recent independent research is the best-known hotel brand in Germany. The signing follows other recent conversions in key markets under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand, including DoubleTree by Hilton Hannover Schweizerhof, DoubleTree by Hilton Frankfurt Niederrad and DoubleTree by Hilton Vienna Schonbrunn, a debut for the brand in Austria.

Simon Vincent, executive vice president and president, EMEA, Hilton, said: “With more than 55 properties either trading or in the pipeline, Germany continues to be a key strategic growth market for Hilton, and we are delighted to be expanding our portfolio in the capital alongside our long-term partners, Blackstone. The fourth DoubleTree by Hilton conversion in Germany and Austria in just two years, this signing further highlights the brand’s growing appeal to hotel owners and investors looking for conversion opportunities in these markets. This latest addition will see us capture even more of Berlin’s booming business and leisure travel, thanks to DoubleTree by Hilton’s formidable upscale offering and superior meetings and events spaces.”

DoubleTree by Hilton Berlin Ku’damm will feature modern and comfortable rooms designed with a fresh colour palette and thoughtful features to appeal to both business and leisure travellers. The hotel will include an all-day dining restaurant and bar, with touches of opulent design throughout the hotel’s interiors. Amenities including the hotel’s expansive fitness facilities, to smaller details like the signature, warm DoubleTree chocolate chip cookie for those checking in, will make guests feel at home during their visit to the vibrant city of Berlin. With a total of eleven function rooms (800m² in total), the hotel will cater for a wide range of meetings and events to take place. Guests will also have access to the secure underground parking, to ensure any visitors can easily attend meetings and events at the hotel, and explore the city by car.
