Heijmans N.V. (construction and related activities) expects to reach consensus regarding the takeover of Aannemingsmaatschappij G. van Herk Tzn. B.V. with its registered office in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. Upon final consensus, the transaction shall be effected on 1 January 2002. The takeover will be settled in cash. The effect on the result of Heijmans N.V. in 2002 shall be ? 0.05 per share.
Aannemingsmaatschappij G. van Herk Tzn. B.V. is active in the area of groundwork, road and hydraulic engineering with the emphasis on road engineering and dyke reinforcements. The enterprise operates primarily in the Randstad conurbation. In 2001, the company realised revenue of approximately ? 16 million, has 35 permanent employees and is profitable. Upon completion of the planned transaction, the company shall remain active under its own name and under the current management within the division of Heijmans Infrastructuur en Milieu.
For years now, Aannemingsmaatschappij G. van Herk Tzn. has been involved in projects in which it works closely with the division Heijmans Infrastructuur en Milieu. The planned acquisition means that in the future, Heijmans can perform these activities under its own management. This reinforces Heijmans? position in the region.
