HBG wins London's City office block

After a successful first stage tender, HBG Construction has been appointed to provide pre-construction services for the redevelopment of 3/6 Gracechurch Street and construction of a new nine-storey office building at Gracechurch Street in the City of London for client Universities Superannuation Scheme Ltd.

The concrete and steel-framed building will comprise two basement levels and seven above-ground storeys. It will provide 4,600 sq m of gross office floor with a separate restaurant unit.

Construction work is set to start in April 2002 with completion due in September 2003.

At Gracechurch Street, HBG will be working alongside development manager Jones Lang LaSalle, architect WML Woods Bagot, services engineer Hilson Moran Partnership, structural engineer Oscar Faber, and quantity surveyor Todd & Ledson.
