GLP has started the construction of a new warehouse at Wrocław V Logistics Centre. The warehouse park in Magnice is to expand by more than 86,000m2. The latest stage of the project had already been fully leased before the start of construction.
The warehouse is scheduled to be completed in H1 of 2024. Goldbeck is the general contractor for the project. Once fully expanded, the 500,000m2 site will offer c. 240,000m2 of logistics space.
The building will meet the BREEAM Excellent certificate guidelines. It will be fitted with many energy-saving solutions. Lighting inside the 12-metre building will be DALI-controlled, reducing demand for artificial lighting, due to an increased number of skylights. Access roads and car parks on the premises are illuminated with additional LED lights. The rooftop also has the capacity for solar panels to be installed. In addition, there are a range of water-saving solutions available, including rainwater harvesting and a toilet water reuse system.
Michał Kropiewnicki, Technical Development Manager at GLP said: "As we expand GLP Wrocław V Logistics Centre, we continue to elevate the standard of our buildings. As part of our continuous commitment to reduce the carbon footprint of our projects and operating costs, our latest warehouse will include a decarbonised steel roof structure, as well as thickened wall and roof thermal insulation. We are also ready to introduce additional sustainable solutions as required by future users."
