DPD Croatia, part of the global delivery group Geopost, has started building its largest distribution centre, Adriatic Hub, which will process deliveries for Croatia and Slovenia. The new hub will be able to process 12,000 parcels per hour.

The overall value of the investment is estimated at €23m which includes the technology technology investment valued at €10m.

The centre will be located in business zone Bistra, near Zagreb and close to the border with Slovenia. It will spread over 37,500m2 and will open next year.

With this investment in strengthening our logistics capacity and improving all business operations, we expect to additionally boost the connectivity of Croatia and Slovenia and improve the quality of services to please senders and receivers in both countries,” said Igor Jakovljevic, CEO of DPD Croatia for the two countries.

DPD Croatia, which has been operating for 20 years, has 18 depots throughout Croatia. This month it will open a new distribution centre in Dubopolje, near Split, in southern Croatia, and will expand its central distribution centre in Zagreb.
