The Supervisory Board of Frankfurt-based DIC Asset AG has just decided to reshuffle its senior executive body: Sonja Wärntges (aged 45) has been appointed to the management board as at June 1, 2013. She will assume the role of CFO, as the incumbent CFO Markus Koch (aged 50) will leave the company at his own request to focus on a new career challenge.
Markus Koch has served on the Board as CFO since July 2003. In another senior appointment effective June 1, 2013, Rainer Pillmayer (aged 38) will join the Board to take over the position of COO that was just created. Ulrich Höller (aged 47), who has been CEO for many years, will continue to lead the company.
Markus Koch looks back on an impressive track record as CFO of DIC Asset AG. He shaped the company significantly in a time that was marked by brisk growth and that saw DIC Asset AG rise to become of the major players on Germany’s commercial real estate market. For one thing, Markus Koch masterminded the company’s highly successful IPO in 2006 along with several capital increases and the issuance of the first corporate bond.
Moreover, he was in charge of group financing and of structuring the company’s first special fund. He was instrumental in helping a productive trust-based relationship to develop among the various business partners of DIC Asset AG who were highly appreciative of his extreme reliability and profound expertise.
Sonja Wärntges, a certified economist, has served as CFO on the Management Board of Deutsche Immobilien Chancen AG & Co KGaA for nearly two years. She is a financial expert with demonstrable track record who has proven her CFO competence in various senior positions in the financial departments of renowned companies, including e.g. PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and C&A.
Following her appointment to the Board of DIC Asset AG, she will be leaving Deutsche Immobilien Chancen AG & Co KGaA. She will be succeeded in the position by Thomas Grimm (42) as CFO at the same time.
Rainer Pillmayer, a certified business administrator, joined DIC Asset AG in 2008 in the role of Corporate Development Manager. Most recently, he played a definitive part in setting up the investment fund business. Previous career stops included Eurohypo in Frankfurt am Main and London, and Boston Consulting Group.
He is a known expert for structuring and controlling real estate transactions. As Member of the Management Board of DIC Asset AG, he will be responsible, among other things, for controlling the proprietary asset management and property management activities of DIC ONSITE as well as the investment fund business as before, but also project-related for Corporate Finance.
Said Prof. Dr. Gerhard Schmidt, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DIC Asset AG: “On behalf of the entire Supervisory Board, I should very much like to thank Markus Koch for his dedicated and decidedly successful collaboration on our company’s Management Board these many years.
“While we do regret his departure, we wish Markus Koch all the best for his ongoing career as well as good health and personal happiness along with professional success. In Sonja Wärntges, we have won a financial expert who represents continuity and competence in one of the company’s most demanding roles. By bringing in Rainer Pillmayer and his experience, we expand the senior management team in order to address the massive and wide-ranging challenges facing one of Germany’s leading real estate companies.”
