Dexters, London's leading independent estate agent and chartered surveyor, has announced exceptional financial results for 2024, with revenue soaring 23% to €263m (£222m) and underlying operating profit climbing 17% to €55.9m (£47.2m). The impressive performance was driven by robust activity across the capital's property market and strategic expansion that has grown the firm's network to over 180 offices across London.
The results reveal a particularly stellar performance in lettings, where revenue surged 31% to €162.5m (£137.2m), now representing 62% of total revenue, up from 58% in 2023. Meanwhile, residential sales revenue increased by 7% to €80.7m (£68.1m), as the agency continued to gain market share through its unrivalled local office network. The latest strategic acquisition of Keatons, a highly regarded East London agency, has brought 90 new colleagues into Dexters' 2,300-strong team and added over 2,500 properties to its management portfolio.
Andy Shepherd, CEO of Dexters, said: "London remains a highly desirable place to live, study and work and the capital attracts both domestic and international buyers and tenants who choose to make the city their home. Our lettings teams are highly successful whilst significant sales deals across central London's premium addresses has enabled our business to generate a strong increase in revenue for the financial year." He added: "DEXTERS remains confident about the strength and future performance of the vibrant London property market and will continue to invest and to position the company to take advantage of expansion and acquisition opportunities."
The firm continues to invest heavily in professional development through its Dexters Academy, which has over 400 graduates and 310 colleagues currently enrolled. As the UK's first estate agency employer provider offering various apprenticeships and accreditations, Dexters has created a pathway that explains why 90% of managers started as trainees. This investment in talent has helped maintain exceptional service standards, reflected in over 80,000 Google reviews with an average rating of 4.9 out of 5 stars, while supporting revenue growth of approximately 15% annually over the past decade.
