The new Communities of Practice: multiple use of space on and around rail infrastructures. This new CoP is in the making and will focus on the possibilities of multiple use of space on or around major rail and road infrastructure.
The space available above, under and along rail tracks is very limited. Moreover, rail tracks and complexes take a lot of space. Multiple use of space is therefore an important issue in rail infrastructure. Not only because of the general discontent regarding the present quality of todayÂ's space, but also in view of potential development opportunities these locations have. Today, the multiple use of space on these locations is very limited indeed.
The CoP will open up the possibility to discuss issues such as what kind of expertise is required to develop these locations, what makes it so difficult and how to involve all parties concerned.
