Leading international real estate developer Skanska Commercial Development Europe continued its domination of the annual CEEQA RealGreen Awards announced at the Mipim global real estate fair in Cannes last Tuesday, winning two of the four awards on offer for the second year running.
Nicklas Lindberg, President of the Swedish based company which has a strong presence in Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Romania and has been a vocal leader in sustainable, was presented with the award for RealGreen Developer of the Year as well as the award for RealGreen Building of the Year for their newly completed project Malta House in Poznan, Poland, which was constructed to LEED Platinium standard. The award for RealGreen Investor of the Year was won by German fund manager Deka Immobilien, while UK based engineering consultant Arup won the award for RealGreen Service Provider of the Year. www.ceeqa.com/2014/winners
The sector’s most prestigious awards for green building and CRE investment across 18 countries in New Europe during 2013 are organized each year by CEE Insight Forum in association with the Financial Times as part of CEEQA, the sector’s main annual industry awards. More than 200 guests attended the CEEQA@Mipim 2014 reception at which the awards were presented, the focal point for industry for industry professionals active the CEE and SEE property markets at Mipim.
Changes in the way we work, shop and play driven by advances in e-commerce and digital technologies will have a radical impact on the nature of shopping centers, distribution facilities and offices - however the new challenges will be accompanied by new value creation opportunities as building owners and tenants strive to adapt, argued some of EMEA, Europe and CEE's top industry experts at this year's CEEQA@Mipim Insight Summit. A Key Note presentation by Amazon's Director of EMEA Real Estate, Raimund Paetzmann, followed by two elite panels of market leading investors, developers and consultants, discussed technical and financial approaches to the considerable challenges presented by the rapid pace of change, while noting the importance of capitalizing on things that won't change, in particular ways in which impulse retail, entertainment and leisure services can exploit the trend towards 'showrooming' in prime shopping centers - but many will not make the grade. The short list for the main CEEQA 2014 awards was also announced at the CEEQA@Mipim reception, the eventual winners of the awards in 22 categories for the best real estate projects, companies and industry professionals in the past year will be announced at the 11th annual CEEQA Gala on 8th April in Warsaw, Poland.
The nominees for the awards were selected by the CEEQA Jury from more than 400 entries received from across the sector following nominations made by the 30 members of the jury panel. A highlight of this year’s awards has been the introduction of a Rising Star Award for smaller privately owned companies active in the sector.
The CEEQA Gala is the flagship annual event for the CEE and SEE real estate markets, attended by 600 business leaders and senior industry professionals from more than 40 countries.
Kim Wilde to perform at CEEQA Gala on 8th April in Warsaw
The entertainment at this year's CEEQA Gala will be spearheaded by legendary entertainer Kim Wilde, who stormed into the charts in the eighties with a string of global hits including Kids In America, You Came, Cambodia and You keep Me Hanging On and has continued to record and perform new material as well as her well known classics. The live show promises to top all previous concerts at the CEEQA Gala including in recent years Bananarama, Edyta Gorniak, Sister Sledge and Boney M.
