Cain International, alongside McCourt Global, Galliard Homes,Vanke,Investec and The Estate Office Shoreditch, has appointed leading creative studio Bompas & Parr to deliver the Museum of Shakespeare at The Stage, its 2.3- acre mixed-use development in Shoreditch.
The world-renowned firm, which has worked with brands such as Coca-Cola,Mercedes, and LVMH as well as cultural institutions including The Barbican, and San Francisco Museum of Modern Art will forge an unparalleled experience set within the archaeological remains of The Curtain Playhouse. Visitors will have the opportunity to view newly unearthed archaeological discoveries while being immersed in a dynamic retelling of a day in the life of William Shakespeare.Hosting a variety of activities from plays to fencing matches, The Curtain Playhouse was a cultural and social centre for the city during Shakespeare’s time. An archaeological excavation of the site during 2011-16 uncovered its remains, with the Museum of Shakespeare now set to make them publicly accessible for the first time, enabling scholars and the public alike to learn more about this important site and its fascinating history.
Comprising 19,000ft², the Museum of Shakespeare will be the centrepiece of The Stage, a 2.3-acre mixed-use development that includes a 37–storey residential tower with 412 apartments, two office buildings, as well as over 60,000ft² of retail and restaurant space and more than an acre of new public realm.
