Borghese Real Estate and COD have acquired “The Green Campus” at Maanplein in The Hague.

The Green Campus is a large-scale office complex developed for the largest Dutch telecom provider KPN, between 1999 and 2001. The Campus consists of 12 buildings totaling 80,000 m², and is situated in unique, park-like surroundings with water features and terraces. The entire complex has been built on an underground car park, offering space for 950 parking spaces. The A12 highway and railway station Voorburg are a stone's throw away, meaning the location is highly accessible.

Although KPN will be gradually withdrawing from this location over the next few years, The Green Campus will continue to operate as one of its so-called ‘office hubs’. For this reason, KPN concluded a new, long-term lease contract of 21,000m² on The Green Campus last year. Besides this hub in The Hague, KPN will also maintain hubs in Amersfoort, Amsterdam, Houten, Rotterdam and Zoetermeer.

For the most part, the buildings becoming vacant are being transformed into private sector residential accommodation. This ties in with The Hague municipality’s plans for transforming the “De Binckhorst” area into a dynamically mixed, urban commuter area where 5,000 homes are being created. The remaining offices at The Green Campus are furthermore being adapted and modernised, and are set to accommodate new office users and new office concepts. Possibilities for transforming the premises into a hotel and expat accommodation are also being investigated. Construction is expected to begin in the spring of 2017.
