AEW announces the completion and letting of a 38,500m2 logistics asset in Calvenzano, Italy, on behalf of LOGISTIS. AEW acquired the brownfield site in 2022 and development was completed in the same year, comprising 38,500m2 of modern, high-quality logistics space with 36 loading bays, NFPA sprinklers and an industrial floor capacity of 5 t/m2. The asset has achieved BREEAM New Construction "Very Good" certification and AEW is currently installing a photovoltaic panel system of 2,888kWp on the roof which is expected to be complete by the end of the year. The asset is fully let on a six-year lease (with a six-year extension option) to the Danish multinational company, DSV Solutions.
The asset, located near the Treviglio exit of the A35 BreBeMi motorway, is positioned between the cities of Milan, Bergamo and Brescia, in a strategic area of Lombardy, well connected to the main production centres of the region. The property benefits from easy access to Milan Linate and Orio al Serio airports, both around 30km away.
Massimiliano Bernes, AEW’s Country Head for Italy, commented: "The completion of the development of the Calvenzano logistics asset and its lease to DSV Solutions is an excellent example of the breadth of AEW’s activities in Italy. We are continuously identifying the best investment opportunities in the sectors and geographical areas most likely to outperform in the medium-long term. LOGISTIS has been investing in Italy for more than twenty years, as the country is a leading logistics area in Southern Europe. LOGISTIS currently has 11 Italian assets in the portfolio as well as another two under development, totalling c.520,000m2 when fully operational."
AEW was advised by Savills for the letting.
