ActivumSG strengthens capital formation team with Greystar veteran hire

One of Europe's largest independent real estate investment managers has made a strategic addition to its client solutions team as it positions for aggressive expansion across the continent's accommodation sectors. ActivumSG today announced the appointment of Adam Tutka as Director within its Global Client Solutions and Capital Formation team, bringing over 14 years of institutional real estate experience that could prove pivotal as the firm pursues €1.2bn in target gross asset value.

The timing of Tutka's hire reveals ActivumSG's ambitious growth trajectory, coming on the heels of three major platform launches that signal the manager's intent to dominate Europe's fragmented accommodation market. The firm has completed the majority acquisition of German serviced apartment company Centralis, targeting a €500m+ gross asset value platform, whilst simultaneously launching a purpose-built student accommodation strategy focused on repositioning existing UK stock worth £500m+ (approximately €590m+).

Most notably for investors seeking exposure to Europe's recovering hospitality sector, ActivumSG secured the €175m acquisition of the Fairmont La Hacienda, a five-star resort on Spain's Costa del Sol. This transaction adds significant scale to the firm's luxury hospitality portfolio, which already includes The SLS Barcelona and Nobu Hotel Barcelona, positioning it as a major consolidator in Europe's premium accommodation markets.

Tutka, who joins from Greystar where he served as Senior Director, brings critical expertise in managing over £5bn in assets under management for global institutional investors. His previous role at UK living sector specialist Thriving Investments as Director of Capital Markets provides direct experience in the repositioning strategies that ActivumSG is now deploying across its student accommodation platform. Based in London and reporting to Eric Lemer, Head of Global Client Solutions and Capital Formation, Tutka will focus on servicing existing investors whilst developing new fundraising strategies.

What makes this hire particularly compelling for institutional investors is the convergence of demographic shifts and capital allocation trends across Europe's accommodation sectors. With student populations growing and corporate travel patterns evolving post-pandemic, ActivumSG's multi-platform approach addresses three distinct but interconnected demand drivers that traditional single-sector strategies cannot capture effectively.

"Adam's arrival comes at an exciting time, as we look to build on our recent activity in the UK and European accommodation sectors to provide global investors with de-risked access to differentiated, scalable investment opportunities within living and hospitality real estate," said Saul Goldstein, Founder and CEO of ActivumSG. Tutka added: "ActivumSG's entrepreneurial culture and nimble investment approach, with the ability to access opportunities across the capital stack and via direct asset, corporate and special situations investments, made this a highly appealing role."
