Verdion is to invest €29m into the development of a new 614,000ft² (57,000m²) logistics facility close to Hamburg, Germany for global dairy equipment manufacturer DeLaval (DeLaval Services GmbH).

The new warehouse will be located east of Hamburg, at Business Park A-24, with direct motorway access to the A24 motorway, the main road connection between Hamburg and Berlin.

The grade-A unit will operate as a strategic base for DeLaval, part of the Tetra Laval Group, whose businesses include Tetra Pak and Sidel. DeLaval employs over 4,500 people, and serves over 100 markets with net annual sales of around €1bn.

André Banschus, Verdion’s country manager Germany, said: “Our team’s technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of the German market enabled Verdion to secure this prestigious project for a world renowned manufacturer and supplier to the global dairy business.”

“With Verdion DeLaval found a highly professional partner also sharing our ambition to drive sustainability,” added Florian Mull, director supply chain Strategy at DeLaval. Verdion and DeLaval are aiming to develop the building according to highest sustainability requirements.

Construction will commence in Q1 2016 with project completion expected in December 2016.
