Verdion, Europe’s specialist logistics developer and investor, has started work on a new €100m, 1.12 million ft² (104,000m²) regional distribution centre (RDC) for Amazon in Werne, Germany.
The development will provide the global retailer with a modern, state-of-the-art e-commerce facility in a prime location for access to major motorways and the major West German cities in the Rhine-Rhur area. The site enjoys excellent transport connections, with easy access to motorways 1, 2 and 44, which are key North-South and East-West routes across Germany.

Verdion is also developing a 1.1 million ft²(102,190ft²) fulfilment centre for Amazon at its 6 million ft² (557,400m²) iPort scheme in Doncaster, UK which will open this year. Amazon already occupies a 215,600 ft² (20,029m²) at iPort.
Werne is a town in the Federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the Unna district in Germany. It is located on the southern edge of the Münsterland region near the Ruhrgebiet which has a population of 5.1 million.
Construction has commenced, with sectional completion from September 2017 - in six parts. Bremer AG has been appointed as general contractor.
