Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield ("URW") has officially opened the retail component of Westfield Hamburg-Überseequartier, marking a significant milestone in the transformation of Hamburg's HafenCity waterfront district.
The landmark opening ceremony took place on Tuesday afternoon when Hamburg Mayor Peter Tschentscher officially inaugurated the new shopping and entertainment center in HafenCity. The event was attended by URW's senior leadership, including CEO Jean-Marie Tritant, Chairman of the Supervisory Board Jacques Richier, and the Group's Management Board. The 94,000 m² retail district launches with an impressive 95% occupancy rate and strong interest in the remaining units, comprising 170 retail, dining and entertainment venues, including more than 40 food and dining concepts.

The development represents a major addition to URW's portfolio of premium retail destinations and reinforces the expansion of the Westfield brand across Europe. As a mixed-use waterfront district within Hamburg's prestigious HafenCity development, the project combines retail, dining, entertainment, residential, office and hospitality components, with the retail opening representing the first major phase of the overall development to welcome the public.
