Tritax Symmetry secures planning for Symmetry Park Bicester (GB)

Tritax Symmetry has secured planning consent for the next phase of development at Symmetry Park Bicester. Planning has been granted for two separate schemes on the same plot for maximum flexibility, the first of which is a new single-unit 268,765ft² distribution facility with the second consented scheme comprising a two-unit scheme of 172,180ft² and 90,298ft². The 14-acre site, known as Plot C, falls within the Local Plan employment allocation and is the last developable plot on the first phase of the site. Designed by PHP, the new development will be delivered to net-zero carbon in construction and will be available on a leasehold basis.

Symmetry Park Bicester provides warehouse/distribution space strategically located close to junction 9 of the M40 (4 miles / 10 mins), benefitting from direct frontage to the A41, with excellent access to London, Birmingham and the national motorway network. The Park is already home to: DPD, Ocado, Bentley and Medline Services.

Marcus Phayer, Associate Development Director at Tritax Symmetry, commented: “Bicester is a strategic destination home to a stellar occupier line-up. The flexibility of having planning consent for two scheme options is a real positive that should enable us to react quickly to market conditions.  With existing stock in short supply and with many occupiers focusing on the here and now, we hope to confirm a speculative programme of development for one of the scheme options in the near future.”
