The first BREEAM-certified property in Sweden (SE)

At the year-end Castellum AB's subsidiary Eklandia Fastighets AB completed a full-service facility in Gothenburg for and together with Toyota. The property has now been assigned Sweden's first BREEAM-certification. In Castellum's real estate portfolio there are 74 properties with Green Building classification.

The BREEAM-certificate is a method for environmental certification of properties which takes a holistic approach in environment and sustainability by criteria for global aspects, resource management, building materials and energy use. The certification is carried out and verified by an independent third part by the British environmental organization BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method).

Castellum already holds 74 properties with Green Building classification with a total area of 370,000 m² through the subsidiaries Fastighets AB Brostaden and Harry Sjögren AB. The subsidiaries have as the first and third company in Europe been assigned by the EU as Green Building Corporate Partner. In order to become a Green Building Corporate Partner the energy consumption has to be reduced with at least 25% in at least 30% of the real estate portfolio.
