The development of Skałka shopping centre in Tychy is ongoing. Intensive works on the building’s commercialisation are underway, with 70% of the planned retail space already subject to advanced negotiations. In the upcoming months, new brands from the fashion, footwear, accessories, health and beauty, sports and consumer electronics sectors will have the opportunity to become tenants.

An important advantage of Skałka is its location in the centre of the city. The project is in close proximity to a cross section of major arteries, has easy access to public transportation and will lie in the heart of six residential projects.

Edyta Potera, national director, retail agency, JLL, said: “We are conducting advanced negotiations with tenants from a number of sectors – fashion, sports and electronics - based on the assumption that the offer of Skałka centre must be attractive and fully adjusted to the needs of clients. Skałka is an investment meticulously planned in all aspects including size, format and tenant mix in order to meet customer expectations”.

Skałka includes the existing Auchan hypermarket and OBI DIY store as well as an extensive range of fashion, services and restaurants. Apollo-Rida plans to develop a modern shopping centre comprising, apart from Auchan and OBI, approximately 90 stores of well-known Polish and international fashion brands, restaurant units and services.

"Skałka is a typical urban shopping centre. It is located in the heart of the city, well-served by road and public transportation. Surrounding Skałka are six large estates whose inhabitants, our analysis shows, are waiting for a new shopping location”, added Edyta Potera.

Ultimately, Skałka will offer approximately 37,000m² of GLA. Furthermore, there are plans for a public space with fountains and an amphitheatre providing entertainment, and other cultural functions. In addition, customers will have over 1,400 parking spaces at their disposal.

"The city of Tychy is in need of a project such as this – acting not only as a shopping location but as a meeting place as well. Visitors will be attracted by the centre’s amphitheatre, with Skałka also playing host to a summer cinema program and sports events”, commented Edyta Potera.

JLL is the sole commercialisation agent for Skałka shopping centre.
