Simon Property Group announces the opening of Firewheel Town Center in Garland, Texas (USA)

Simon Property Group, Inc. (NYSE: SPG) today announced the opening of Firewheel Town Center, a 785,000 square foot open-air regional shopping center located 15 miles northeast of downtown Dallas in Garland, Texas. Firewheel features Foley's, Dillard's, Barnes & Noble, Circuit City, Linens 'n Things, Old Navy, DSW, and Pier One Imports. An 18-screen AMC Theater is scheduled to open in December of 2005. Restaurants complementing the retail offerings include T.G.I. Friday's, Rice Boxx Asian Cafe, San Francisco Oven, and Fish City Grill.

Firewheel Town Center offers shoppers an innovative mix of retailers including American Eagle Outfitters, Ann Taylor Loft, Bath & Body Works, Brighton Collectibles, Charlotte Russe, Chico's, Eddie Bauer, Fossil, Jos. A. Bank, J. Jill, Victoria's Secret, White House|Black Market and Yankee Candle. The center is 99% leased and committed.

"Firewheel was designed to offer tremendous pedestrian amenities and a compelling mixture of retail, office, and entertainment uses," said Rod Vosper, vice president of new development at Simon. "The center's combination of quality retail and extraordinary design sets Firewheel apart in the dynamic Dallas market."

In addition to the 'main street' feel of the center complete with tree- lined streets, benches, and other amenities, Firewheel features a two-acre park that contains a large Koi fish pond, functioning stream, and children's play area. The center also emphasizes outdoor seating in common areas and restaurants.
