Resident (The Hague) and Ciboga (Groningen) nominated for German award

The Resident in The Hague and the Ciboga area in Groningen have been nominated for the Difa Award 2004, a German award for the best European inner city redevelopment area. The award will be presented on October 5, at the Expo Real in Munich. The award is an initiative of the open-end fund Deutsche Immobilien Fonds AG (Difa) from Hamburg. On the list of nominated projects are 32 projects from all over Europe, selected from 101entries.

The Difa Award is a biannual award for real estate projects that add something to the quality of the inner city. The award consists of an amount of € 30,000.

MAB has also won the Fiabci prix d’excellence last year for the project The Resident. The Ciboga area (Circus-, Boden- and Gasfabriek area) hasn’t been nominated before. On the area, which has a surface of 14 hectares and is on the north side of the city center, 1000 new houses are planned, as well as urban, social and cultural facilities. The development of the area is being developed in close cooperation between the municipality, province, State, ING Real Estate Development, Moes Bouwbedrijven and Wilma Bouw. Project developer is IMW, a combination of ING, Moes and AM.
