Rabobank foresees growth in real estate activities (NL)

Last night at the New Year’s reception of Rabo Vastgoed, Mr. Ten Cate, Member of the Board of the Rabobank, said that he is expecting a strong growth in its real estate activities.

Following the incorporation of the FGH Bank (order portfolio €6 billion) and the strong growth of Rabo Vastgoed (order portfolio €4.4 billion), the bank is planning to bundle and expand its real estate activities further. Rabo Vastgoed has projects and land positions in 220 municipalities which will enable the development of approx. 40,000 residences over the next 10 years.

Ten Cate stressed the importance of speeding up the development of houses by shortening procedures. Economists of the Rabobank have calculated that the development of 20,000 extra houses will result in 40,000 new jobs and an economic growth of 1.1%. On behalf of Minister Dekker of the Ministry of VROM (Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment), Director General Jäger stressed that the restoration of confidence in the building world and the joint development of new initiatives with the government is high on the political agenda.
