Primark, the renowned Irish fashion retailer, is set to make its Middle East debut later this year through a strategic partnership with Alshaya Group, a leading international retail franchise operator. This collaboration marks Primark's 18th and 19th market entries, with plans to open stores in Kuwait and Dubai.
The first store is scheduled to open in October 2025 at The Avenues in Kuwait, followed by additional locations in Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, and City Centre Mirdif in early 2026. These openings will introduce Primark's value-driven fashion offerings to the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, catering to a growing demand for affordable and high-quality retail options.
Eoin Tonge, Interim CEO of Primark, expressed enthusiasm about the expansion: “We’re excited to be taking the next step in our global expansion journey, creating new stores for more customers to enjoy shopping with us.”
The partnership with Alshaya Group, known for successfully introducing international brands to the region, is expected to provide valuable local expertise and support for Primark's entry into the Middle Eastern market.
For investors and developers, this expansion presents opportunities in retail real estate, particularly in high-traffic shopping centres across the GCC region. The collaboration underscores the potential for international brands to thrive in the Middle Eastern market, aligning with consumer preferences for accessible fashion.
