The selection committee Architect Rotterdam Centraal has chosen ââ¬ËTeam CSââ¬â¢ to design the new Central Station of Rotterdam and its surroundings. ââ¬ËTeam CSââ¬â¢ is a combination of the architect agencies Benthem Crouwel Architekten BV, Meyer en Van Schooten Architecten BV and West 8 landscape architects BV.
The selection committee will present its choice to the Rotterdam City Development Corporation (OBR). This way OBR plans to give the assignment for a preliminary design to ââ¬ËTeam CSââ¬â¢. The tender will go according to European guidelines. As soon as the mentioned choice is a fact, the architect agencies will start on a first draft.
The Amsterdam based agency Benthem Van Crouwel is also involved in design concerning the ââ¬ËNoord-Zuidlijnââ¬â¢, the Central Station of Amsterdam as well as a new control-tower and terminal of Schiphol (Amsterdam Airport). Meijer en Van Schooten designed the new head offices of ING in Amsterdam and the KEMA in Arnhem. The Rotterdam based West 8 is known for its design of the Schouwburgplein in Rotterdam.
