Panattoni Europe, Poland's leader in the industrial property market, is embarking on a new track, destination: heavy industry. The developer is to build a new manufacturing hall dedicated to the rolling stock produced by Bombardier Transportation. The new facility in Wrocław will feature approx. 19,400 m². The project is anticipated to be completed in June 2016.

The developer has signed a contract to build a manufacturing hall for Bombardier Transportation -rail technology leader and at the same time the biggest international investor in the sector in Poland. The project to be developed by Panattoni Europe is situated at the Bombardier Transportation site in Wrocław, next to the existing manufacturing plant - one of the oldest European sites producing railway stock and the oldest constantly operating factory that produces railway stock in Poland. The new facility, totalling 19,377 m², will be used to manufacture modern passenger train car bodies, including those for ICx high-speed trains. To this end, the production section (18,357 m²) will be divided into the laser welding room and the paint shop, while offices with staff and technical facilities will take up 1,020 m². The transaction was mediated by the commercial real estate advisory firm Colliers International.

The design and development of production facilities custom-tailored to the needs of individual customers is one of the many competences of Panattoni Europe. The developer initiated this business line in 2008, starting a trend in the entire sector. "To date, we have had the pleasure of supporting our partners in light manufacturing, including small household appliances, car interior components, or even quads. A contract with a leading maker of rolling stock in Poland, Bombardier Transportation Polska, is a new challenge for us and a significant milestone in the development of not just our company, but of our sector as a whole", said Robert Dobrzycki, Chief Executive Officer Europe Panattoni Europe, commenting on the new investment. According to Maciej Chmielewski, Partner and Director of the Industrial and Logistics Agency, Colliers International: 'The transaction was one of the most complex we have recently advised on. Advanced manufacturing is a demanding sector - many factors need to be taken into consideration in order to secure the success of an investor'.

This year, Panattoni Europe celebrates the 10-year anniversary of its presence in the European market. During this time, the developer has built more than 3.2 million m² of modern industrial space - apart from warehouse parks and built-to-suit distribution centres, the company may boast a series of manufacturing developments, also those built at Special Economic Zones. These include: the conversion of an existing 30,000 m² facility for Lear Corporation, specialising in making car interior components; the extension of the Faurecia plant in Gorzów, making interior components for Volkswagen Amarok, Golf A7, and Mercedes W222; the construction of the first European factory of Polaris Industries, the US quad manufacturer, featuring 33,000 m² in Opole, and the development of the 10,700 m² manufacturing facility in Świebodzin for RECARO Aircraft Seating Polska, a leading global supplier of economy-class aircraft seats.
