During the first nine months of 2002 the German open-ended real estate funds attracted a net of EUR 13.1 bln., making them by far the most popular investment vehicle.
In total all open-ended funds attracted EUR 28.3 bln during the first nine months of 2002, special funds attracted EUR 23.3 bln. Total investments in all 2,453 open-ended funds amounted to EUR 381.9 bln as per the end of September 2002. The total for the 5,427 special funds amounted to EUR 467.8 bln.
Of the German open-ended real estate funds, the Haus-Invest (CGI) and both open-ended funds of DB Real Estate, were again the most popular. Money funds attracted EUR 9.5 bln and came second. Share funds only attracted EUR 1.3 bln.
