NextEconomy and NextPrime market segments reach 250 companies

Five new companies to join

NextPrime and NextEconomy, the market segments launched on 2 January 2002, will welcome 5 additional companies on 27 May, raising the total to 252.

Almost a quarter of the companies* listed on Euronext’s regulated markets in Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris have joined the segments. This comes in response to investor demand for regular, high-quality financial information on listed companies, while at the same time raising the profile of these companies with potential investors.

From 27 May 2002, NextEconomy will count 114 companies in new economy sectors, while 138 companies from traditional sectors will make up NextPrime.

Each segment is represented by a price index weighted for market capitalization, with components including all companies except those represented in the Euronext 100 index.

* Excluding foreign companies
