New ING Head office in Budapest by (EEA) Erick van Egeraat associated architects (NL/HU)

(EEA) Erick van Egeraat associated architects has completed the new ING Head office at Dózsa György út 84 B in Budapest. The 40,000 m2 development, including 25,000 m2 of office space, was designed for ING Real Estate Hungary Development, part of the Dutch ING Group - whose philosophy is to offer additional value by creating distinctive yet functional architecture.

The brief was to design an office building of high quality and design, with an internal layout that conforms to commercial market standards.

The overall mass, located on a promintent loacation in Budapest, is expressed as three volumes, linked by fully glazed atrium spaces and connected by glossy stainless steel lines. This concept derives from its urban context in which it creates a 21st century transition between the orthogonal volume of the adjacent modernist building of the 1950´s, previously renovated by EEA, and the late 19th century eclectic style villas that are typical of the area.

On the occasion of the official opening of the building the EU Chamber Event, organised by the Netherlands Hungary Chamber of Commerce and EEA Budapest, will be held in the new venue on September 16th 2004. The evening program consists of a roundtable discussion and a networking event with a presentation by Erick van Egeraat.
