NCC to deliver new resi development in Stockholm (SE)

NCC has been commissioned by Stockholmshem to construct 91 rental apartments in Vastertorp, in south Stockholm. The project is a turnkey contract in partnering form with an order value of approximately €17.5m (SEK 180m). The apartments will be distributed across four buildings with a mix of four to five stories, and range from one-bedroom to four-bedroom units, with most being one-bedroom or two-bedroom. To minimize production costs, no basement storage rooms or laundry rooms are to be constructed. Instead, these will be included in each apartment.

“Stockholm is growing and we are pleased to have been entrusted with part of the production of more rental apartments and residential units for the city. We have a long history of cooperation with Stockholmshem and are looking forward to yet another project,” said Annika Gronberg, Head of Department, NCC Building Sweden.

The buildings are being constructed with the ambition of achieving Sweden Green Building Council, Silver level. Several of the buildings will have green roofs or solar cells on the roof. Construction is expected to start in the spring of 2022 and to be completed in the spring of 2024.
