The Mayor and Council of Woerden and project developer Multi Vastgoed have reached an agreement over the further approach for the plans for the inner city center. Multi Vastgoed will develop the ?Kerkplein? development area for Woerden. This is an important ?key project? in the plans Woerden has for its inner city.
The overall area covers the Kerkplein, a number of streets surrounding it and a large portion of the Nieuwe Markt. An underground parking garage for approx. 450 cars, about 100 housing units and 9400 m2 of shops and other facilities will be built. Both parties (municipality and Multi Vastgoed) assume that a realization agreement will be ready within a few months.
