Mr. G.H. Hoefsloot to join Management Board Heijmans

Heijmans N.V. announces that effective 1 November 2002, Mr G.H. Hoefsloot shall be appointed to the Management Board.

Effective 7 May 2003, (the next General Meeting of Shareholders) Mr Hoefsloot shall act as Chairman of the Management Board, on which occasion the current Chairman of the Management board, Mr H.A.J. Bemelmans, shall bid the organisation farewell.

Guus Hoefsloot (born in 52) has been employed by Hollandsche Beton Groep N.V. (HBG) since 1984, where he has been a member of the Management Board since 2000. Prior to that, amongst other things, he was employed for three years as a director at Kyle Stewart ltd., an operating company of HBG in London, and for seven years as a director at HBG Bouw en Vastgoed (previously, also known as Mabon). Prior to that period at HBG, Guus Hoefsloot worked for ABN AMRO and Barclays Bank.

Berry Bemelmans, who has been Chairman of Heijmans’ Management Board since 1 September 2002, succeeded Joop Janssen who, due to health reasons, was forced to resign his position prematurely.

“In the past few years, Heijmans has succeeded in joining the top of the market in the Netherlands and Belgium. The next step is to acquire a position among the top 10 in the European construction market. That requires knowledge of and experience with working in an international environment. Guus Hoefsloot has gained more than 10 years’ management experience at the internationally operating HBG. His experience abroad and in the sector make him by far the best individual to lead Heijmans into the next phase of expansion”, according to Berry Bemelmans.

Following the planned appointment of Guus Hoefsloot as Chairman of the Management Board in May 2003, the Management Board of Heijmans N.V. shall be comprised of Guus Hoefsloot (Chairman), Jacques van den Hoven and Dick van der Kroft.
