Leonardo Hotels UK and Ireland has purchased the five-star Hotel Gotham in Manchester, launched by Bespoke Hotels in 2015, for an undisclosed sum. The hotel will join the Leonardo Limited Edition collection, which includes The Dilly Hotel in London’s Piccadilly, The Grand in Brighton, and the Midland Hotel in Manchester.
The hotel features 60 bedrooms, including five suites, a two-AA-rosette restaurant, and a rooftop private bar and members’ club.
The acquisition may lead to a name change for the property, as Leonardo indicated the use of the Hotel Gotham name will be limited by licence. A new name has not yet been announced.
Jason Curruthers, managing director of Leonardo Hotels UK & Ireland, stated: “We are delighted to welcome the Hotel Gotham in Manchester to the Leonardo Hotels portfolio. This property aligns perfectly with our vision to provide exceptional guest experiences. This acquisition further strengthens our presence in key city centre destinations and underscores our dedication to delivering unparalleled service and quality to our guests.”
Ronen Nissenbaum, CEO of Leonardo Hotels UK, Ireland, Benelux, Spain, Portugal and US Development, added: “The acquisition of the Hotel Gotham is a milestone in our growth strategy, reinforcing our commitment to becoming one of the fastest-growing hotel groups in Europe. This addition enhances our portfolio with an iconic hotel destination, further supporting our ambitious plans. We continue to source similar high-end hotel opportunities across the UK and Ireland and the rest of Europe, which is brimming with investment potential.”
