Lamington Group has announced the launch of its latest project under the award-winning eco-hometel brand, room2. The new property, located in York, is scheduled to begin site development this summer and is expected to open in early 2026.
room2 York will be the brand’s first venture in the North of England and the c. €35.1m project will be financed directly from the group’s balance sheet, with Lamington Group’s in-house development team overseeing the project.

In line with our One Living Planet strategy, we are proud to continue the creation of long-term environmental and social value for our partners, guests and community.”
Situated in the city, room2 York will feature 116 guest rooms, a meeting space, a laundry room, a gym, and the new Winnie’s café and bar.
