KPN Telecom about halfway in its real estate divestments

KPN Telecom announced in 2001 that it would divest substantial real estate assets. Two years ago the company used some 1.1 mln m2 of office space, of which it rented some 600,000 m2. During the past two years some 240,000 m2 has been divested and KPN Real Estate & Facilities reports that it expects that another 200,000 m2 will be divested by the end of this year.

Although exact figures were not disclosed, KPN stated that the divestment process is about ´half way´. Office space presently rented on long term leases by KPN is also up for rent, as the company seeks to concentrate its activities in The Hague.
