Jones Lang LaSalle's retail team has successfully completed a deal which will introduce Swedish retailer Clas Ohlson to the UK.
The Nordic newcomer is set to occupy a number of units, totaling 1,912 m² at The Whitgift Shopping Center in Croydon. Terms have been agreed for space which fronts both the prime North End and also a large frontage into the center itself.
With an ethos of delivering 'practical solutions for practical problems', the store's concept is distinctive and will occupy a unique position in the retail market; delivering a range to meet customer needs with over 15,000 products spanning the house and home, technology and hobbies.
This is the first store outside the Nordic region for Clas Ohlson, following 90 years successful trading from 87 stores throughout Sweden, Finland and Norway. The retailer has plans to open a number of additional stores in prime UK locations nationwide in both shopping centers and high streets over the next three years as well as launching an online and home delivery service for the UK.
