Ir. Mels Crouwel to become new national government architect (NL)

Ir. Mels Crouwel will be appointed as national government architect per 1 October 2004. He will succeed Jo Coenen who will leave after four years.

Mels Crouwel (51) graduated in 1978 as civil engineer from the Technical University of Delft. In 1979 together with Jan Benthem he set up the agency Bethem Crouwel Acrhitecten BV bna in Amsterdam. From 1 October 2004 Mels Crouwel will fill up his new position as national government architect and stay connected to Benthem Crouwel. Crouwel has designed many projects with his agency, amongst which Amsterdam Airport Schiphol (Masterplan 1988
