ICSC Europe 2005 Solal Marketing Awards Finalists announced (EUR)

Twenty of the most creative and effective marketing campaigns from shopping centres across Europe have reached the finals of this year’s International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Europe’s Solal Marketing Awards.

Seven European countries are represented as finalists this year, in what is acknowledged by the European shopping centre Industry to be the best way of achieving professional recognition for the imaginative and effective marketing campaigns being developed by its marketing professionals.

The winners, to be announced in April 2005, automatically qualify for entry into the ICSC MAXI Awards - the most highly valued international retail marketing competition within the Shopping Centre industry.

Eileen Connolly, joint Chair of the Judges and head of retail marketing for UK- based Donaldsons Europe said: â€Å"Marketing plays a pivotal role in the financial success of shopping centres. Good marketing should have a significant and positive impact on a shopping centre’s performance. Success must be measurable through efficient evaluation; it’s not enough to initiate a marketing campaign, however creative, without being able to measure the results. The ICSC Solal Marketing Awards reward the achievement of a shopping centre’s goals through innovative marketing using all available resources.

“This year the judging panel were delighted to see some stunning campaigns which show that, yet again, shopping centre marketing is developing in its effectiveness and professionalism, helping to drive
shopping centre sales and visitor numbers in new and innovative ways, together with making a significant contribution to their communities.”
