Hilton unveils plans for Santorini resort (GR)

Hilton has announced the signing of a franchise agreement with Alexandros Ltd for the opening of Sea Breeze Santorini Beach Resort, Curio Collection by Hilton. Due to launch in Spring 2022, the new 37-room hotel will be Hilton’s first on the glamorous Greek island, complete with private beach. Each room in the new premier development, which is built on the south coast of the island with a private beach, will benefit from its own private terrace and guests will be able to take a dip in their own personal hot tub or swimming pool. Guests will be able to choose between the hotel’s two restaurants and two bars for a relaxed bite to eat or cocktail, with two of the outlets being located on the resort’s private beach. With two pools, a spa, fitness facilities and loungers by the beach, guests can alternate between working up a sweat, being pampered relaxing and cooling off with a dip in the water.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Hilton said: “With a 60-year legacy in Greece and hot on the heels of our latest opening in Crete, we are excited to further develop our Grecian portfolio with Hilton’s first hotel in Santorini. One of Greece’s most popular islands, Santorini welcomes more than two million visitors each year and is an ideal location for our second Curio Collection by Hilton in the Greek islands.  This new hotel joins more than 20 Curio Collection hotels in development across Europe, doubling the brand’s European presence in the next three years. Opening next year, we are pleased to partner with Santorini specialists Alexandros Ltd to offer this unique and impressive beachfront hotel.”

Michail Karamolegkos, owner of Alexandros Ltd, said: “Our experience in Santorini, from excursions and transfers to hotels and villas, makes us the ideal partner to open Hilton’s first hotel on the island. We are thrilled to be working with Hilton and look forward to developing our relationship in the future. We expect to open the hotel next year and are excited to welcome guests to this spectacular property.”
