Hammerson CEO Rita-Rose Gagné to retire in 2026 after transformative tenure

Hammerson has announced that Rita-Rose Gagné will step down as Chief Executive Officer in 2026, concluding a pivotal chapter in the company's history. Gagné, who joined Hammerson in November 2020, has been instrumental in reshaping the company's strategy and operations.

During her tenure, Gagné led Hammerson through a significant transformation, focusing on repositioning the Company as the largest UK-listed, pure-play owner and manager of prime retail and leisure-anchored city destinations. Under her leadership, Hammerson achieved record leasing performance in 2024, setting the stage for continued growth in 2025.

Robert Noel, Chair of Hammerson, expressed gratitude for Gagné's leadership: "On behalf of the Board and the Hammerson team, I would like to thank Rita-Rose for her outstanding leadership and immense contribution to the business since November 2020."

Gagné's decision to retire in 2026 allows for a structured transition period. The Board will initiate a comprehensive search for her successor, ensuring continuity and stability as Hammerson continues to execute its growth strategy.

As Hammerson navigates this leadership transition, investors and developers will be keenly interested in how the company maintains its momentum and capitalises on emerging opportunities in the evolving retail and leisure sectors.
