Foruminvest wins competition in Marseille (FR)

Foruminvest France S.A., established in Paris, has been selected to develop the shopping centre ‘Les Terrasses du Port’ after an eleven months lasting competition. The competition was an initiative of the harbour authorities and the city administration of Marseille. The other two finalists were Unibail/Espace Expansion and Klepierre/Segece.

The winning project of Foruminvest consists of 45,000 m² NLA shopping space and restaurants, an underground parking garage with 3,000 places, a terrace at the harbour site with a seafront of 270 meters, a beach soccer facility, a luxury health club with outdoor swimming pool and several lawn bowling courts. Furthermore, a marketing plan has been presented to attract tourists and local consumers to this harbour site that is situated in the vicinity of the innercity of Marseille. The plan includes amongst other things a spectacular evening show, projecting special productions on a huge water screen that consists of several tens of vertical fountains at the harbour site, acccompanied by special musical effects. The total investment is approximately € 200 million.

‘Les Terrasses du Port’ is Foruminvest’s second development project in France. Its first project was ‘Espace Bethune’, a 20,000 m² main shopping street in Lille, of which the building activities are expected to start in six months.
